Due to the Brexit regulations, AFNIC, the .fr registry, will no longer be allowing UK registrants to register French Territory domains. Although these changes were only officially announced, they have been in effect since January 1, 2021.
Since January 1, 2021, the United Kingdom no longer meets the eligibility criteria for .fr and french overseas domain extensions .re, .yt, .wf, .pm, and .tf. Registrations are therefore no longer allowed from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and all overseas territories.
Registrants based in the UK who registered their domains before January 1, 2021, get to keep their domain names, they can renew and transfer them. Other domain extensions managed by AFNIC such as .paris or .alsace remain open to registrants from the UK.
